Description

This grant will fund the development and maintenance of a dYdX trading competition platform to be used by KOLs and community leaders for promotional purposes. Trading competitions are among the most popular methods of attracting new users to a trading venue. By offering users rewards for their participation and trading profits, we are hoping to increase user onboarding and overall promotional awareness of the dYdX exchange.

CLC will be developing a standalone community platform to support the deployment and monitoring of trading competitions, with specific rules and prize pools included per competition. The platform will start off permissioned, whereby known KOLs will be invited to launch competitions for their communities, but eventually transition to permissionless competitions that can be launched by anyone in the community. The grant also includes ongoing maintenance and support for new competitions across the next 6 months.

Affiliate Program - VIP Initiative

This grant will support development and management of the dYdX VIP Affiliate program, an addition to the in-protocol affiliate system for attracting larger KOLs and institutional partners. The program will allow qualified VIP affiliates to earn up to 50% of referred user taker fees, with a maximum of $10,000 per referral per 30-day rolling period. The increased referral fee is expected to attract industry-leading affiliates, including institutional partners and influential KOLs. This should result in a substantial increase in daily active users, trading volume, and dYdX marketing growth.
