We're happy to share the latest grant approved! A grant for research and a proposal on funding rate caps in dYdX markets has been funded for $32,500.

Given the renewal proposal and changes made to the Grants program this past month, approvals were temporarily paused for the past few weeks. Everything is back up and running now with the changes in effect! We decided to push ahead with this grant given our active discussions with 0xCLR and a sense of urgency for this proposal.

We're super excited for 0xCLR to join us with another grant to update protocol parameters, namely funding rate bounds. The grants team will also play an active role in helping 0xCLR with navigating the on-chain proposal to submit these changes.

Research

Funding Rate Bounding Research

Today, dYdX bounds funding rates to a range between -0.75% and 0.75%. This research will explore the impact these limits have on dYdX markets, including a study of market behaviour when funding rates are trading near or at the limits and a peer analysis of other exchanges. The research will deliver a recommendation for updating the limits, and push forward a governance proposal to the existing on-chain parameters (on StarkEx).
