Description

In their Treasury SubDAO proposal, Karpatkey contemplated operationalising the deployment of a portion of the USDC accumulated through the staking program towards buybacks of the DYDX token in the open market, followed by staking of such tokens. The idea is that such an initiative could return value generated by the dYdX network to holders of the DYDX token by reducing the token’s circulating supply.

This grant will fund the development and maintenance of a dashboard to track the impact and performance of dYdX's Buy & Stake program. The dashboard will track token related metrics (e.g. circulating DYDX supply), accumulated USDC (and DYDX equivalent), DYDX purchased, DYDX staked, historical transactions, as well as the balance of USDC and DYDX in the address over time.

This grant funds a brand awareness campaign in partnership with Kaito’s Yapper Leaderboard to increase visibility and engagement for dYdX. The campaign incentivizes Twitter users to participate in high-quality discussions about dYdX, earning Kaito Yaps and DYDX rewards. dYdX will receive a dedicated ‘post-TGE’ community leaderboard which tracks and scores twitter activity related to the protocol. As part of this leaderboard, the DEP will be hosting a 3 month community competition to reward users for their participation with $50k USDC distributed across the top 50 or so yappers for three months.

New Market Listing Assignment

This grant will fund the proactive testing and launching of new markets on the dYdX Chain, promoting protocol growth and trading activity with timely market listings. As of today, any market supported by the Market Mapper can be listed permissionless by the community. However, this process does require committing 10,000 USDC to the MegaVault with a 30 day lockup period. This requirement guarantees that liquidity will be available on the new market, while also minimizing the likelihood of spam listings. We suspect that this deposit requirement may be reducing the velocity with which new markets can be listed on the protocol.
