HackOxford, part of ethOxford is a 3 day hackathon hosted at Oxford’s Mathematical Institute. EthOxford brings together hackers from Istanbul, London, Tokyo, Paris, Lisbon, and more, creating a vibrant culmination of some of the greatest minds in crypto. dYdX will be represented among other protocols and positioned as a leading appchain on Cosmos– ready for engagement from builders and traders alike!

This grant will fund the integration of dYdX v4 on Kucoin Exchange, a leading centralized exchange. Integrating dYdX v4 includes adding support for deposits, withdrawals, and native staking within the exchange for the v4 DYDX token. Users will be able to trade and stake their token through Kucoin. The fee covers the technical costs for integration, and incentivizes the exchange to support in a timely manner (by end of Q1).

This grant will support the existing Tradingview connector tool, a previous grants funded project that was well received and used by the community, to be compatible with dYdX v4. The tool allows users to connect their dYdX accounts and execute on Tradingview strategies. This grant will allow for advanced and automated trading strategy implementation and support every order type offered on v4.

This grant will fund the integration of the DYDX token and the development of a dedicated staking page on StakingRewards.com. The project aims to boost staking adoption, establish StakingRewards.com as a definitive resource for dYdX staking information, and enhance the visibility of dYdX in the staking community.

This grant will fund PANews to create and publish in-depth articles in Chinese, focusing on the dYdX v4 platform, its migration process, staking mechanisms, and the trading incentives program administered by Chaos Labs. As part of this process, PANews will ensure that the articles are distributed throughout its deep network of local discord / telegram communities, as well as feature the articles on coingecko and Coinmarketcap.

This grant will fund the support for dYdX v4 on Forest, an enterprise-grade wallet suite for crypto professionals that need additional security and functionality to their wallet. Forest provides a comprehensive custody solution comparable with those that investors have come to expect on Ethereum.

This grant will fund the development and support of a C++ client designed for trading on dYdX v4. The team has finished building a proprietary client in C++ for programmatic trading on. Through this grant, the team will redesign their code to make it more accessible for everyday traders, and ultimately open source the client for public use. $25,000 will be paid out for the development and open-sourcing of the client, and the remaining $5,000 will be paid to support the codebase for an additional six months. We expect changes to be needed and issues to appear in that period.

This grant will fund support for the dYdX Chain and DYDX tokens on the Keplr multisig wallet. Funding will cover prior work done to build the multisig ($10k) and ongoing support for maintaining dYdX on the wallet ($10k). The wallet is ready to be released and will be maintained for 12 months with 99.9% uptime and a commitment to support dYdX users.

Over the last six months, the dYdX merch program has been highly successful at engaging contributors, promoting dYdX at events, and rewarding community members. As such, we’ll be renewing the merch program for another six months. This is inclusive of a retroactive grant of compensation for the month of October, during which the Toyoji team continued to run the merch program without pay. This new iteration of the merch program will seek to increase community involvement in the merchandise selection process. New items of merchandise will be voted upon by the community before being released.

This grant funds the Skip team's ongoing work for the dYdX MEV dashboard, to monitor and analyze "Sovereign MEV" within the dYdX ecosystem. Created in collaboration with the dYdX research team, this dashboard will measure MEV through its proxy metric - "orderbook discrepancy". The underlying goal is to combat the negative aspects of MEV, such as atomic sandwich attacks, and to promote the benefits from benign MEV instances like arbitrage. The grants team engaged Chaos Labs to onboard as a service provider through a formal agreement: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11xOb0fTciB2bueUbHMdH7pD3lyj_yAdn/view. The scope of work included a New Asset Listing portal, LP Reward Reporting and Analysis, and a Market Maker Risk portal. After starting work, dYdX announced the transition to v4, including updates that clashed with these deliverables (new assets paused and potential sunsetting of LP rewards). In response, the agreement was put on pause to negotiate its continuation and possible repurposing to a new scope. Chaos had already completed $300,000 in deliverables by the time it was paused, making them entitled to this compensation. After exploring alternatives, we have decided to terminate this engagement in favor of other projects with Chaos.

This is a follow-on grant to the previous Dashboard grant. As part of this grant, Skip will run between 5 to 10 custom geo-distributed dYdX nodes, modified to catch and measure specific MEV events for the existing MEV dashboard. The team will maintain the dashboard, with database services, uptime, and ongoing development. The grant will include submitting PRs and updating the dashboard as needed to continue measuring relevant MEV data.

Sponsoring an event in Tokyo to promote dYdX through hands-on onboarding and community engagement. The event will include an overview of dYdX, the future dYdX v4 chain, and methods of participating in the protocol through delegations and contributor work. The goal of the event is to grow dYdX engagement across the crypto community in Tokyo. Hisashi and Charles from the dYdX Foundation will be attending the event.

Sponsoring a Cosmos related event in Seoul to promote dYdX across the ecosystem and engage with the developer community. Hisashi from the dYdX Foundation will be attending the event and speaking as representatives of the dYdX community. The grant will also include distributing dYdX Merch to further promote the brand name.

Sponsoring an event in Ukraine to promote dYdX through a community member workshop. The event included an overview of dYdX, perpetuals, and DeFi overall. The goal was to promote dYdX and onboard new users with a hands-on approach, while also engaging local community members and grow the ecosystem.

As part of our sponsorship of the Epic DeFi day in Portugal, we are sponsoring two active dYdX community members to attend and promote dYdX in person with Merch. This is an opportunity for community members to attend events, learn from speakers, and engage with other ecosystem participants while promoting dYdX.

Metanomics is hosting a hands-on, dYdX onboarding workshop in Antwerp, Belgium with 20 - 50 attendees. This event will cover educational content on DEXs, Perpetuals, and walk users through onboarding to dYdX and trading on the platform. Attendees will leave with a new account setup and hands-on experience with using the dYdX platform.

Espacio Cripto will be hosting a dYdX themed workshop in Mexico City that includes a talk on DeFi trading, hosting an experienced derivatives trader to discuss perpetuals and dYdX, and finally a community panel to discuss retail trading opportunities on dYdX. The event is expected to have at least 50 attendees in a popular Mexico City location.

Kagan released an in-depth paper exploring improvements to the dYdX Affiliate system ahead of v4 to improve engagement and protocol growth. The paper explores the current affiliate system used to attract new users and promote dYdX, outlines areas for immediate improvement, and explores existing systems across other protocols in a comparative analysis. The community and dYdX stakeholders can begin exploring new areas of growth in light of this research. The Grants program will be issuing a retroactive grant based on the initial findings and commitment to growing dYdX.

This community member based in Vietnam will be building up the local dYdX community with a dedicated channel, local events, dYdX Vietnam Twitter, and media sponsorships.

This group of Turkish contributors have been working on DeFi content through video publishing. They've previously interviewed Foundation CEO Charles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJnKryt9noo. This project will see them publish 4 new dYdX deep dive videos for promotion in Turkey.

0xCLR has been writing Financial Health reports on behalf of the DAO for the past few epochs. Through this grant, the report will be scaled to include more information that will guide the community around decisions and understanding of the protocol's financial health. The report will include data on the treasury, spending activity, fees generated, and other important health factors to begin budgeting the future of the dYdX DAO.

EpicWeb3 is Web3 focused conference taking place in Lisbon on July 5th. The event is bringing together speakers from different areas of the industry with tons of experience to discuss areas of development and growth. We are sponsoring the event to include dYdX branding across the event, but will also use the sponsorship as a means of sending active community members to the event. dYdX branding and marketing will be performed as part of the sponsorship, but the goal is primarily to give community members a chance to attend and speak. We have two community members attending the event to represent the dYdX community and learn from industry leaders.

Heading into v4, the dYdX Chain will enable permissionless listing of new markets - similar to Uniswap's pool listing model but for perpetual markets. With that comes complicated questions and design mechanisms to mitigate risks, improve user experiences, and incentivize liquidity provisioning. To help us dig through these questions, Chaos Labs will be conducting research to deliver a clear framework outlining the design and requirements to enable permissionless listings.

Ahead of the v4 migration, a lot of questions are being asked around the impact on governance and the current delegate structure of dYdX. The Flipside Crypto team will be leveraging lessons learned from both Ethereum and Cosmos based protocols to produce insights for the dYdX protocol. The deliverable will include thoughts around ways to transition delegates and existing governance frameworks to the v4 Cosmos chain.

The current liquidity provider rewards formula includes a few different parameters for scoring providers on their quotes. This research will be exploring methods of optimizing these parameters to encourage better liquidity and improve the efficiency of the LP rewards program. The most significant update will be to the MaxSpread parameter, exploring competitive spreads across dYdX markets (currently set at 20bps for BTC and ETH, and 40bps on all others).

A top priority for dYdX v4 price oracles and liquidations is the development and release of VoteExtensions on the Cosmos SDK. VoteExtensions will allow validators to vote and agree on the oracle price at each block, enabling a more efficient price discovery and liquidation system for the protocol. Aleksandr is an experienced Cosmos developers that will prioritize the development of VoteExtensions to ensure release ahead of the dYdX mainnet. This will allow the integration and testing of VoteExtensions on dYdX v4 ahead of mainnet launch. This grantee will be working closely with the other grant in similar scope.

A top priority for dYdX v4 price oracles and liquidations is the development and release of VoteExtensions on the Cosmos SDK. LionDAO is hosting their annual hackathon in NY that brings together 300+ students to build projects in a three-day event. We are sponsoring the event to promote dYdX as a contributor-friendly protocol to engage active builders and future protocol contributors. We view this as a great opportunity to onboard new contributors, and Carl will attend the event as a judge to meet students actively building in person to talk about dYdX and dYdX Grants.

After successfully launching the dYdX Merch program, we are renewing the the program for an additional six months using the remaining funds on hand from the previous round. The funds will compensate the Toyoji team for resupplying stock, processing orders from internal partners (Foundation, Trading, Grants, Community) and online purchases, and maintaining Merch media accounts. The primary mission of the Merch program has transitioned to internal incentive driven, helping promote engagement and contributions through merchandise rewards.

Today, dYdX bounds funding rates to a range between -0.75% and 0.75%. This research will explore the impact these limits have on dYdX markets, including a study of market behaviour when funding rates are trading near or at the limits and a peer analysis of other exchanges. The research will deliver a recommendation for updating the limits, and push forward a governance proposal to the existing on-chain parameters (on StarkEx).

This is both a Retroactive grant and a future work grant. The retroactive is being awarded for a video created on bridging deposits that has received +1k views and work done to revamp the Academy library with updated content, thumbnails, and the overall look. The grant is funding a dYdX Ecosystem video that will be included in our quiz section of the Academy to promote participation in the community and DAO beyond interacting with the platform.

James will take on the role of website management and social media engagement for the dYdX Academy throughout our initial launch period. For website management, the role includes regular maintenance and upkeep, updating content across written articles, videos, and quizzes, optimize the website for SEO to improve engagement, and more upgrades as we look to expand (e.g. token gated content). On social media, the role will be crucial to the success of our Academy by engaging crypto twitter actively with regular content distributions, community and online engagement, hosting online events, collaborating with other accounts, and more to drive our media presence.

Ahead our dYdX Academy launch, Anna will be designing 10 custom article headers to go along with the articles written for the initial release. The headers will be customized to leverage dYdX themes and assets with unique traits symbolizing the content described in the article. The designs will be consistent with the rest of our website to maintain a high level of quality across all components.

Mo, not originally assigned with helping the launch of our Merch program, stepped up to play an active role in helping the team improving the overall process and impact of the successful launch. Mo contributed towards outreach initiatives, website design, operational hoops, and more to guarantee a smooth and high impact launch.

Chorus One will produce an in-depth report on MEV in dYdX v4, covering important topics like: validator perspective on the existing understanding of MEV in v4 and possibly new cases, assessing stakeholder interaction across validators and market makers to extract MEV opportunities, and the introduction of dYdX in the existing MEV ecosystem found across Cosmos based chains. The report will provide a better understanding of what to expect in terms of MEV as we migrate to v4.

Skip Protocol will be leading efforts to capture and measure MEV events on dYdX v4 with a public dashboard available to the community. The dashboard will enable data gathering to track MEV across validators and protocol actors (e.g. Market Makers) to better enforce guardrails and possibly penalties on dYdX participants, namely validators. The dashboard will also allow the community to begin scoping out a future MEV solution that addresses all negatives events witnessed. In addition to the dashboard, Skip will be working on a report that covers the perspective of existing searchers looking at dYdX as a new venue for MEV.

The sponsorship includes 12 editions of their weekly show hosted on twitch with dYdX branding, dYdX branding on the website and included in all content produced, at least 3 Twitter threads promoting dYdX, 6 videos promoting dYdX through educational content, 6 articles promoting dYdX content and ongoing news, and additional coverage of dYdX brand where possible.

Funding an in-depth look at the opportunities for cash-and-carry trading in the existing dYdX product. Given the lack of native spot markets, there are capital efficiency considerations, external protocol integration requirements and risks, and other important topics to explore in determining whether a well-capitalized trader can efficiently perform basis trades using dYdX. The delivered report will help traders explore these opportunities and position themselves to capture funding premiums on dYdX.

This grant will fund the building of an application that allows dYdX users to access their complete trade history with journaling, reporting, and tracking functions. The goal is to allow traders to track their PnL across multiple timeframes (e.g Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly) and journal their trade entries for historical referencing. Reporting will allow easier access to historical trades for external requirements (e.g. Taxes) and certifications. The Profile element will give users the ability to share their trading performance with other community members, including individual Trade Report Cards and an overall performance page with their accompanying Hedgie NFT (picture a Hedgie with Weekly/Monthly/YTD performance that can be shared publicly).

Grant will sponsor a one-day workshop event in Istanbul, Turkey that includes discussions on dYdX and an interactive session to build a trading bot through dYdX's API. This is a promotional event to engage the Turkish crypto community and promote dYdX as a builder-friendly platform.

Grant will fund the production of a video by popular Greek crypto influencer CryptoCapitalist covering dYdX and all its features as a promotional campaign. Content will include educational material to guide new users through the onboarding process, an in-depth overview of all the protocol features, and an overview of the governance process. The funding is split across milestones, paying out the full amount only when +2000 viewer count is achieved.

This grant will fund a trial of the Layer3 Quest campaign with two 1 month long quests that promote dYdX and help familiarize existing Layer3 users with the dYdX platform. Layer3 minimizes one-off users by restricting quests to committed permissioned layer3 users only. Quest 1 will ask users to deposit into dYdX, perform a trade, stake DYDX and follow dYdX on Twitter. Quest 2 will ask users to perform a leveraged trade. Users will receive 10 USDC per quest completed.

Grant will fund a dYdX dedicated dashboard that scores community members on their contributions and actions in dYdX using community channels and tools (e.g. Discord participation, Commonwealth posts/comments, Snapshot votes, On-chain votes, Call attendance, and more). Xenophon Labs has conducted research on the efficiency of both the Liquidity Module and Safety Module in dYdX. The research was published in detailed written reports and accompanying Dune dashboards to visualize the data. Through this research, both modules were found to be inefficient sources of DYDX protocol emissions. Following the Liquidity Module research, the community approved a proposal to sunset the module, resulting in 383,562 DYDX accruing to the dYdX Community per epoch. In total, the protocol is saving +19M in DYDX emissions through this proposal.

This grant will fund the production of all web designs to be used across the Academy Page website and POAPs. Grant production includes: 4 Full Page Designs, 4 Dropdown Designs, and 10 POAP designs. This Grantee is working closely with other Academy Page Grantees to integrate the designs and build out the best possible product.

Grant will fund the building of an online webstore for the ongoing dYdX Merchandise Campaign, along with customized branding and designs for marketing purposes. The webstore is set to include web3 utilities, including tokengating for DYDX and Hedgie holder specific drops and wallet connections. Grant also includes a 3 month post-completion retainer to monitor progress and add new features.

Metagals is a group started in Mexico City to improve participation of women in DeFi and Web3 across Latin America. This grant will sponsor two workshop events that will focus on teaching attendees about Perpetual Trading, Decentralized Exchanges and dYdX specific features. The workshops will go over onboarding to dYdX and go over the platform, community, and governance.

Grant will fund the creation, distribution, and general management of POAPs to be implemented as rewards for Academy Page interactions. Users will receive POAPs for completing specific goals and milestones as part of the Academy program. We expect 9 unique POAPs to be created and distributed to 25,000 unique users as part of the grant.

Grant will fund research to optimize dYdX trading fees for maximum trading volume and user onboarding, in preparation for community ownership of setting fees in V4. The research will study competitors, strategies, and historical fees on dYdX to determine optimal rates and adjustments that can be made going forward.

Community member ModYModX played a very important role in the Grants team launching the Merchandise production grant. ModYModX has been working with the merchandise team for several months to produce an initial sample, which the Grants team could use for quality testing, and assisting both the Merch and Grants team to produce the existing grant. Given the high impact expected for this grant, and months contributed to helping this come to life, the Grants team is issuing a retroactive grant to compensate the work.

This is a follow-up to a grant issued in v1 of the Program. The grantee was tasked with developing social media videos for all Grants announcements, which were successful in providing interactive methods and digestible content. This grant has assigned an additional 10 videos, with new designs using the revamped dYdX Grants branding and customized announcements.

This grant will fund the building and management of a customized dYdX Academy Page as part of the larger Academy Page Project through the Grants program. The Grantee has experience building the existing Ambassadors website, and will use this knowledge to build a similar dYdX brand page to host all Academy efforts. The goal is to build an easy-to-use, intuitive website with interactive components and dYdX branding that helps onboard new users. On top of onboarding new users, the dYdX Academy website should become the go-to for knowledge on trading and crypto.

Hummingbot is a popular tool used across multiple venues for systematic, market making trades in an easy to use manner. The grant will fund the building of bots that can be used by the community to easily trade on dYdX through market making strategies.

As part of the V4 migration, the community will take ownership of all risk parameters for dYdX trading system (maintenance margin, position size, etc..). This research will present a framework for the community to appropriately assess these risks and make adjustments as needed. The grant includes an initial proposal to make changes based on the framework.

dYdX is sponsoring the upcoming Cosmoverse event in Medellin, Colombia as a Platinum sponsor. The event is happening on September 26 - 28. The goal of the event is to bring together everyone from the Cosmos ecosystem with heavy focus on community building. With a platinum sponsorship, dYdX will have its logo placed across the event, on the website, receive a booth and a chance to speak at the event. Carl is expected to speak about dYdX and the Grants Program.

As part of our Academy Page project launch, ModYModX is joining as the Project Manager for the effort. In this role, the Project Manager will responsible for coordinating efforts, planning execution, identifying weaknesses and delivering the final product to the community. The role includes working with both the Grants team to identify necessary grants and the relevant Grantees to coordinate efforts.

Grant will fund the production of dYdX themed merchandise to be sold online at cost for community members, distributed as giveaways during events and conferences, and used for promotional campaigns. The merchandise will include t-shirts, hoodies, hats, unique dYdX accessories, and lots of other products. Merchandise produced will also include Hedgies specific items, which will be tokengated to Hedgies holders only for exclusivity. No profits are generated from the merchandise, any sales are done at cost so that community members buy at the price of production only. The Merchandise will be produced in two drops, Drop #1 in 3 months and Drop #2 in 6 months, and will make use of a custom webstore built through another grant.

This is a retroactive grant to reward the grantee for their research paper, dYdX DAO Organizational Research, which explores alternatives for future growth in V4 and makes recommendations for discussion points.

The grant will be used to sponsor a community event held in Mexico City with the goal of onboarding new users to web3 and promoting the ecosystem in the region, along with dYdX for trading.

The grant will be used to build a Twitter bot dedicated to all activities involving Hedgie NFTs, including market activity, new listings, floor updates, giveaways and more. The bot will make use of multiple APIs to compile the information into an easily digestible Twitter account.

The grant will be used to sponsor the following: The Defiant Newsletter through a sponsored post, The Defiant Newsletter through a promotional banner for 3 months, The Defiant podcast through promotional messaging in each episode for 3 months.

The grant will be used to build a web application that integrates Tradingview strategies into a dYdX Trading account to execute trades directly through a strategy. Users will be able to tap into Tradingview resources and test out different ideas using the app.

The grant will be used to sponsor a couple of events through the Uganda Blockchain group that will bring together the local community for discussions around dYdX, Perpetuals, and more general crypto projects. This is a kickoff grant to determine the popularity of these events.

The grant will be used to employ an analyst to help the program with initial application screening, applicant due diligence work, contributor sourcing, community engagement and more.

The grant will be used to fund an in depth consultation of grants funding amounts across 15 different projects. The consultant will provide an analysis of funding amounts and recommendation for optimizing and normalizing the compensation across future projects.

The grant will be used to build a C# version of the existing Python SDK for dYdX API use. The SDK will replicate all existing functionality and functions found in the SDK today.

The grant will be used to build a twitter account that will automatically tweet large orders executed and liquidation events occurring on dYdX. The style will replicate popular Liquidation twitter accounts seen across different platforms to keep the community informed.

The grant will be used to integrate and maintain dYdX governance activity in the Boardroom governance application. The boardroom dashboard will provide activity tracking capability, upcoming and historical proposals, direct voting and delegation, proposal creation, and browse additional resources.

The grant will make dYdX the primary sponsor for Espacio Cripto, a Spanish-speaking podcast covering all things crypto with focus on Latin America for a 6 month period. The sponsorship will include a promotional message in each episode, 3 episodes dedicated to dYdX. Additionally, a dYdX banner will be included on all newsletters published by the team.

The grant will be used to fund a research sprint around best practices across autonomous working groups culminating in a policy brief that will help guide the dYdX DAO Working Group structure. The research will make use of historical working group structures to find best practices and common pitfalls.

The grant will be used to fund a deep dive research report around historical and existing DAO structures with guidance around successful best practices. Topics will include organization structure, reporting & accountability, contributors, funding, and more.

The grant will be used to fund weekly video design representations of our Grants related announcements. The videos will be shared on Twitter and be customized each week to match the content. The videos will primarily be used for funding round updates.

The grant will be used to build a dYdX Community Treasury dashboard to help the community track activity, payments, revenue and expenses with interactive graphics. This will include historical analytics to measure success ratios and previous activity. The tool will also for for scenario analysis to help the community measure future proposals (e.g. impact of spending X from treasury).

The grant will make dYdX the primary sponsor of the Blockcrunch podcast hosted by Jason Choi over a 6 month period. The sponsorship will include special brand shoutouts in every episode and 2 episodes with dYdX guests to discuss the protocol. The grant also includes a revamp of the Blockcrunch website that will include dYdX branding.

The Grant will be used to build a dydx.vote webpage to display all proposals and provide a delegation page allowing delegators to chose active participants for delegation. The webpage will help market governance activity by providing a simpler interface. Work done also includes subgraph improvements to build the functionalities.
